I normally wear a medium. I went with a size large in this jacket to ensure I had sufficient room for layering and arm movement. What I like: the jacket was comfortably oversized without feeling like it was falling off. I can layer under it. The sherpa lining is exceptionally soft. The pockets do not have sherpa lining, but they are large enough I can stuff my hands or a pair of lightweight gloves into them. The jacket is warm enough I was able to wear it as an outer layer to take the dog out when the temperatures were in the upper 40s and low 50s. It was also a welcome addition to my wardrobe when my house got down to 60 degrees before the heat came on.What I don't like: in a size large I need to roll up the sleeves, and these sleeves aren't really designed to be rolled up. The long back length isn't particularly flattering on me; it emphasizes my short legs. (That same long length is also part of why this jacket is so warm, as drafts aren't blowing up my back.) The overall look is a bit too woodsy for any but the most casual workplace. Any windproofing is due to the multiple layers of fabric rather than any inherent qualities in the fabric.Overall I like the jacket for my needs, and I would buy a replacement if I lost this one.
